Last month was Immigrant Heritage Month, an effort designed to get more people in the general public aware of the contributions that immigrants have made to American society.
In Los Angeles, we're still celebrating immigrants. In that spirit, the Office of Mayor Eric Garcetti, in partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library, the Mayor's Office of Immigration, FWD.us, The California Endowment, and the Civic Innovation Lab, will be hosting an #ImmigrationHack at the Los Angeles Central Public Library on Sunday, July 19 from 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
You can register for the free event here.
This is the kind of event that Sabio likes to be involved with because it's an opportunity to give back to the community. Building apps and websites isn't just about commerce and convenience, it's also about being able to build tools that can help bring about social change.
