On Monday, Sabio sponsored HP Stream Notebooks for the winning team of the Inaugural Tech Academy Hour of Code Tech Fair that took place at the James A. Foshay Tech Academy. The Code Tech Fair was an event open to the community that allowed students who had been working on semester long programming projects to display their projects.

The goal of Foshay's Tech Academy is to empower the local community to think critically, take initiative, and to use their skills to make a positive impact in the world. Like many schools in Los Angeles, Foshay is a majority minority school. Foshay's Tech Academy is like a school within a larger school in that students receive an interdisciplinary curriculum in technology, history, English, and science. Under the leadership of lead teacher Leslie Aaronson, Foshay Tech students learn computer science skills that they can apply at internships and in eventually in the job market. Foshay also has a finance academy and a health careers academy.

Sabio co-founder, Gregorio Rojas, attended the Hour of Code Tech Fair at Foshay Tech Academy this week, reviewed student projects, and awarded notebooks to the winning team of students.

"We are proud of the talent found at the Foshay Tech Adacemy, and all the great work that Leslie Aaronson is doing to cultivate awesome diverse tech talent, and we want to support and encourage these young tech innovators to aim for the fences," Gregorio said.

Sabio is all about cultivating exceptional tech talent locally, so working with Foshay Tech Academy is a natural fit.
