We Hack 2016 ends on a high note with first place winner, My Canasta

This past weekend the WeHack/Southeast Cities Hackathon took place in South Gate. Twelve teams competed in the professional developer division. There also was a competition for high school students.

In the professional developer division, the My Canasta Team took first place, winning $3,000. My Canasta created an app that connects residents to each other to share homegrown produce. The second place winner was a the My Parks team, which created an app to help people find local parks and a brochure map view of the parks. The second place winner won $1,000. And finally, Latin Tech Hub received an honorable mention with its app to connect the Latino community to technological opportunities.
