Two of our awesome Sabio Fellows, Melissa Hargis and Nicole Klein, just won the San Francisco-based LAUNCH Hackathon competition, which secures their entry into the LAUNCH incubator and a super sweet investment of up to $250,000! During their Hackathon competition they designed a new app called Betagig, which allows users to "beta test" their next career before deciding on a major and pursuing an educational path. They, like Sabio, are working to disrupt the way our society approaches college, and to bring efficiency to the post-secondary training ecosystem.
These two awesome developers won second place at TechweekLA back in 2014 soon after they graduated from the Sabio full-stack training program as part of an all-female team, and the ATT Hackathon in 2015 and 2nd place at the CES ATT Hackathon in January 2016. You know what they say, practice, makes perfect, or in their case, WINNERS!
Both Melissa and Nicki are exceptional software engineers, and tech entrepreneurs and we are excited to see them succeed and thrive. The entire Sabio community congratulates them on this amazing WIN!
